Welcome, News & Whatever

Soooo ... I think we should consider using this "bio" page as a space to keep everyone updated on what is happening.  Keep it current with the latest rock star photog interviews, the creative challenges, and any other news we want folks to know about.  We can make an "about" page for our Soiree Seven Bio's.

What do you think?  Knowing the template and the limitations we have to work with, I think this might be the way to go.  But I'd love for you to mull it over.  And we'll need to see how this works with the over all aesthetic of the site.  Right now i have this "bio" area set for no image and open on the home page.

Also, the dashed border on the bottom is optional.  We can also change the width and color of the border.  I was thinking if Jo puts any dashed lines in our banner we can match it to that.

dena - This is hard. They are all gorgeous. It is between first and third designs for me. Perhaps with the camera a bit smaller? Looking at the invitations, I like the creamy color of the blog body. I think the size is good, I am not maximised on my screen and I don't have to scroll. I wonder if we should ask for a horizontal and vertical version of the final design?June 12, 2009 - 10:08 am

JO’S BANNER IS UP!

Ooooh, Jo did an incredible job didn’t she?  Can’t wait to see what the invite looks like and how it adds to everything – I do think the invite would look wonderful with a bit of a flourish (flowers maybe?) … would add a bit of character to a very streamlined blog, you know?  Soften things a bit.

Love how the banner bleeds into the body of the blog, but we will need to adjust our white to match hers if we keep things that way.  I also think the Logo looks great.  The wording is a bit off center, but that’s an easy enough tweak.  And I think it’s more a result of my cropping then her placement (had to crop to take the thin black border off of the pdf sample she gave us).  I also think the tag line needs to be in a smaller font.  Maybe just one point smaller, maybe two.  Thoughts?

You can see where the color shifts from stark white to our off white.  Also, now that the banner is up there I think we are going to need to play with the placement of the menu.  The menu looks funny above the girls shoulders … like the buttons should be heads or something, lol.  We might be able to fix that by adding a bit of a white line to the top of the illustration to signify a definite end.  We can play.  Of course.

That’s all I can think of for now.  If we want to tweak some things on our end and then show Jo so she can ad her input and make some final adjustments then I can take the “under construction” mode off.

xoxo

hello reb

ha.

i do love the color combo.  what do you think about more grey, slightly less beige in our ‘greige’ sides?  Jo’s illustrations will be a great fit when it is all done.

leave a comment so i can see if I fixed the ‘log in’ part.

hey, where does the logo go?  within the banner?

Rebecca - I have no issue whatsoever with more gray in the greige. I just plugged in the lighter color in the sample you sent me. I did make the blue more blue though ... Can't wait to see it all come together. Wahoo!!!May 6, 2009 - 2:57 pm

Rebecca - Oh, and I forgot ... we can put the logo anywhere. We'll just have to see where it fits!May 6, 2009 - 2:58 pm

Rebecca - Look under "Appearance > P2 Options > Header" and you can see the different options.May 6, 2009 - 3:00 pm

Rebecca - I hate the color of the tabbed box. How it's kind of a blu-ish gray. Need to fix that. Probably tomorrow when my brain starts to work. ;) Shouldn't you be in bed right now?May 6, 2009 - 3:01 pm

Rebecca - should be yes. i will play a bit tomorrow. i think i might prefer a lighter or all white in the body part to offset photographs as well as Jo's wonderful use of white. but then again i may be delirious.May 6, 2009 - 3:32 pm

Rebecca - yes, I do so love the idea of a 'news' section under the banner. yay! I want to get everyone started on this...like last week!May 8, 2009 - 11:22 am
